Urban Village Win Puts Cambodia on International Business Stage

PHNOM PENH: Phnom Penh’s Urban Village added prestige to the Cambodian international business scene when it became the first Cambodian enterprise to win an “Asia Pacific Entrepreneur Nobel Records Award” in Malaysia last month. The awards ceremony is in its 20th year and is one of the world’s most represented and recognized international business awards.

On Saturday, June 24, Dr. Ben Li and Catherine Chan, Founder of Urban Village and Factory Phnom Penh and Chairperson of Cambodia Chinese Commerce Association, accepted the historic award in front of Malaysian and Cambodian government officials and the Malaysian Royal family.

“In the grand event of over a thousand prestigious guests, we promote Cambodia’s strengths and spread good words about Cambodia to attract more foreign investors who are looking for new market opportunities.” said Catherine Chan.

Urban Village, located on the south end of Norodom Boulevard, is a 7.6-hectare condominium development that provides residents with modern amenities and a vibrant community. The fast-growing area contains restaurants, retail shops, and co-working spaces for professionals and visitors alike. The Urban Village neighbors the Factory Phnom Penh, which is a one-of-a-kind creative space and a premier hub for Cambodia’s burgeoning arts scene that provides seasonal markets, cultural events, sports facilities, and more.

In addition to providing cultural and professional experiences, the Urban Village is accessible to more than the ultra-wealthy. Rental prices start from $240/month and units can be bought for as low as $70,000. The success of Urban Village on the international business stage proves the concept’s adaptability, while also providing confidence to potential foreign investors in Cambodia by showing that the Kingdom is an ideal place for quality and creative investment.
